Our Story

The Revived Pulse Foundation was born from a deeply personal experience when Faan and Elmari Botha discovered first-hand that a single act of kindness from complete strangers could mean the difference between life and losing all hope.

In 2013, Faan Botha received a second chance at life after suffering heart complications linked to pesticide exposure. Faced with the devastating reality that life-saving treatment was available – but financially out of reach – he and his wife, Elmari, found themselves in a seemingly hopeless situation. Hope was restored when Faan received a donated pacemaker, a gift that changed his life. Deeply moved by this act of kindness, he and Elmari founded the Revived Pulse Foundation in 2018 with the focus on helping others in need of critical cardiac rhythm management devices.

Why do we help heart patients in need?

When someone requires cardiac treatment or a life-saving device, it can be a matter of life and death. Unfortunately, many people cannot afford medical aid, and even those who have it often find that it covers only a fraction of the cost – leaving them struggling to pay for the care they desperately need.

Our mission – Giving hope and second chances at life

At the Revived Pulse Foundation, our mission is to help heart patients not only survive but thrive. We want to ensure they can spend more time with their loved ones and experience life beyond their heart condition.

This journey would not be possible without the incredible generosity of individuals and companies who have supported us along the way. Every donation, shared post, and message of care has made a meaningful impact.
